The honest version

The worry is rarely the needle. It is who is holding it.

In the UK a great deal of facial aesthetics is carried out by people with no medical registration at all. Asking who is treating you, and what happens if something goes wrong, is a reasonable question rather than an awkward one.

If you have been thinking about this for months without booking, it is usually one of these:

  • You have seen results on other people that look overdone, and you cannot tell in advance which clinics produce them.
  • You do not know who is actually treating you, what their medical training is, or who you would contact if something felt wrong afterwards.
  • No price appears anywhere until you are sitting in the chair.
  • You suspect you will be offered three things when you asked about one.
  • You have never had anything done and you do not want to admit you have no idea what to ask.

The approach

A doctor who will tell you when the answer is no.

Dr Mirali Patel is a GMC-registered doctor with a postgraduate Level 7 Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine. She assesses your face as a whole, explains what is actually causing what you see in the mirror, and recommends the smallest change that makes a difference. Where a treatment is not right for you, she says so.

01

Assessment, not a menu

A full facial assessment and medical history, and a conversation about what is bothering you in your own words.

02

A clear plan

You leave knowing what is recommended, what it costs, what it will and will not change, and what happens if you do nothing.

03

Treated by the doctor

The doctor who assesses you is the doctor who treats you, at both clinics, at every appointment.

04

Education over upselling

Honest advice about what is worth doing and what is not, including when the answer is to wait or to do nothing.

05

Aftercare you can reach

Aftercare guidance for every treatment, with WhatsApp open for anything that concerns you between appointments.

06

Two clinics, one standard

Streatham and Sydenham, serving Balham, Clapham, Crystal Palace, Dulwich, Forest Hill, Tooting and Brixton.

What changes

The goal is that nobody can name what you had done.

People notice that you look well. They assume you have been sleeping, or that you came back from somewhere sunny. That is the brief.

The smallest change that makes a difference, and nothing you did not ask for.

  • Softer, less tired. The shadows and hollows that make you look exhausted by the afternoon are usually the real complaint, so they are addressed first.
  • Still your face. Expression intact, proportions respected, nothing that announces itself across a room.
  • You understand your own plan. You can explain it to someone else, because it was explained to you properly.
  • No surprise on the invoice. Prices are published on this site, so you know the range before you arrive.
  • A medical safety net. A GMC-registered doctor who can recognise and manage a complication, and who will refer you on where that is the right thing to do.

Treatments and prices

Prices, before you ask.

Published so you can plan. The exact figure for your plan is confirmed at your consultation, once you know what you actually need.

Questions

Before you book.

What happens at the consultation?

Dr Mirali takes a medical history, assesses your face at rest and in movement, and asks what is bothering you in your own words. She then explains what is causing it and what the realistic options are, including doing nothing. You leave with a plan and a price, and there is no requirement to book treatment on the day.

Who carries out the treatment?

Dr Mirali Patel, personally, at every appointment. She is a GMC-registered doctor, registration number 7488510, which you can verify on the GMC register. Her qualifications are MbChB, MRCP(UK) and MRCGP, with a postgraduate Level 7 Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine.

Will I look like I have had something done?

That is the opposite of the aim. Dr Mirali works to the smallest change that achieves the result and declines volumes or techniques that produce an obviously treated look. If your expectations are for something more dramatic than she is willing to carry out, she will tell you at the consultation rather than partway through.

What if something goes wrong?

Aftercare guidance is given for every treatment and WhatsApp is open for concerns between appointments. As a doctor, Dr Mirali is trained to recognise and manage complications, and will refer on to specialist care where that is the right course. This is the practical difference between a medical and a non-medical provider.

I have never had anything done before. Is that a problem?

A large proportion of patients are first timers, and many book a consultation purely to understand their options. Coming in to ask questions with no intention of treating anything that day is entirely normal here.

How much does it cost?

Guide prices are published on this page and in full on the price list. The skin consultation is £50. Prescription-only treatments cannot be advertised or priced publicly under UK regulations, so those are discussed in clinic after a medical assessment.

Which clinic should I book?

Streatham and Sydenham run to the same standard with the same doctor, so choose whichever is easier to reach. Patients travel from Balham, Clapham, Crystal Palace, Dulwich, Forest Hill, Tooting and Brixton.

Can I book for December now?

December availability opens on Glowday on Monday 23 November 2026. Dr Mirali is on maternity leave until 1 December, and enquiries received during that time are read and queued.

Start with a conversation, not a treatment.

A proper assessment, an honest opinion, and a plan you can take away and think about.
